Academy
Founded in 2006, K9 Academy was created with one clear philosophy: dog training should be fun. We believe that dogs (and their handlers!) learn best when training is enjoyable, relaxed, and rewarding. By using games-based, positive training methods, we help build strong bonds between dogs and their people while achieving reliable, real-world results.
K9 Academy is proud to be a Kennel Club Listed Status Club, led by Joy Cook, a Kennel Club Accredited Instructor and member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT 552). All APDT members are assessed under a strict code of practice and are committed to kind, fair training methods — meaning coercive or punitive techniques are never used in our classes.
We offer both indoor and outdoor training facilities, allowing us to train comfortably all year round. In warmer months, our secure outdoor compound is ideal for activities such as recall training, giving dogs the freedom to learn safely in a controlled environment.
Whether you’re starting with a young puppy, continuing training with an adolescent dog, or looking for a fun activity to enjoy together, K9 Academy provides friendly, supportive classes for every stage of your dog’s life.
